I became involved in furniture building and design, cabinetry, and carpentry in college. After graduating from the University of North Carolina in 2006, I began working for a small cabinet shop in Saluda, NC, cranking out bathrooms and kitchens. Moving to Maine a year later to work as a rock and ice climbing guide, I worked part time and in the fringe seasons assisting an aging cabinet maker in town who's traditional building styles and emphasis on craftsmanship was engrossing. It wasn't long before I found myself thinking more and more about what to build next instead of what adventure to go on next. Enrolling in the Nine-Month Comprehensive Program at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, ME, I have since dedicated myself to producing the finest furniture I can while exploring different aesthetics and principles of design.
